Mar 042015How to Use Essential Oils & Where To Buy Them

HowToUseEssentialOils

I’ll tell you, no one has been more surprised than me that I would love my essential oils arsenal as much as I do. I am far from a crunchy granola type. I take my kids to the doctor, I take medicine and drink diet coke. My kids eat pizza and other junk food. I never in a million years thought these would be for me.

My good friend Rachel kept on me about them for a year. Every time I complained about some ailment she would offer to send me a sample. One day I broke down and let her use her oils on me and I saw immediate results. So I ordered a Premium Starter Kit in May 2014 and haven’t looked back. I have since overhauled my medicine cabinet, household cleaners, skincare and more.

I grabbed a Premium Starter Kit from Young Living and thought it was a great initial purchase. You can read on to learn more about the starter kit and scroll all the way to the bottom to see why I chose Young Living.

:: What’s included in the Starter Kit

You get ELEVEN bottles of essential oil with the premium starter kit. These are 5ml bottles – not samples. In addition to the oils, you will receive the diffuser, product guide and samples + all the freebies mentioned above when you sign up using the links in this post! These are the included oils:

StarterKitClean.: Frankincense

:: How to Buy a Starter Kit

1.  Head over to the Young Living page here and fill out your information.

2.  Be sure the “Wholesale Member” option is checked so that you don’t end up paying retail prices. You are not required to make any additional purchases or meet any monthly requirements.

3. Be sure the “sponsor ID” and “enroller id” say 1838362. That’s so I can send you your fabulous freebies!

4. If you do not feel comfortable putting in your social security number (this is only for tax purposes if you decide to turn this into a business) then you can get an EIN from the IRS in just a few seconds here and use that number instead. If you make $600 or more per year selling Young Living products, you will receive a 1099 form in the mail. Young Living will never share this info with anyone.

5. Select which starter kit you want to get.

6. Skip Step 3, the Essential Rewards part of the sign-up process. I’ll send over an email with more details on that part of things after you sign up.

7. Go through the checkout process.

:: Why I Chose Young Living

Young Living is the only company I know of that has their own farms, can absolutely guarantee that no pesticides or herbicides were used in the growing of any of their oils (they use essential oils for pest control and they do all of the weeding by hand), has their own testing equipment (they do both in-house and 3rd party testing), only uses the first distillation of oils instead of adding chemicals to get more out of the plant and guarantees that nothing else is added to the oils during bottling.

Young Living is also the only company that is directly in charge of essential oil farming operations. Every other company goes through some kind of an “oil broker” to buy their oils. They have to trust the oil broker that the farmers that he/she buys the oils from can be trusted to do what they are saying they are doing. With Young Living, you just have to trust one company instead of several.

I also loved that I could just sign up and get the member discount (24%!) and not have to actually sell anything to anyone.  All I had to do to keep getting my discount was to buy $50 worth of products per year, which I quickly discovered would not be a problem at the rate we use them.
